After the Siesta Key season 4 finale, star Garrett Miller announces on his Instagram page that he will not be returning for another season.
It's the end of an era for Garrett Miller as he announced after the Siesta Key season 4 finale that he's officially leaving the show. Garrett was an original cast member who first appeared during season 1 of the show when he dated Kelsey Owens, who was new to the beach town, before having a fling with the main star Juliette Porter and a toxic relationship with Cara Geswelli. Kelsey and Garrett broke up and got back together several times before calling things off for good but remained on cordial terms. During Siesta Key season 4a, Garrett introduced his girlfriend Kenna Quesenberry on the show, and she became a regular.
In November, Garrett and Kenna got engaged and shared the news on social media. However, throughout Siesta Key season 4b, Garrett's friends shared their disapproval and concerns over his relationship with Kenna. His friends thought the two were spending too much time together and that Kenna might not be a good fit for Garrett. Luckily, the fitness influencer disregarded his friends' opinions, and he and Kenna are still going strong. The Siesta Key star didn't have too much of a role in the latest season and seemed to be uninterested and uninvolved in the season's drama.
After the Siesta Key season 4 finale aired, the star broke the news of his departure to fans on his Instagram page. Garrett shared some photos from the season finale as well as other unseen photos of him and his castmates, ending with a season 1 image featuring former stars Alex Kompothecras and Pauly Apostolides. "It saddens me to say I officially will no longer be on SIESTA KEY," Garrett wrote. "Unfortunately it wasn't my decision & something I wasn't expecting (well maybe a lil)."
The star went on to explain that he promised himself since the start he would never betray his true self for the show, which is a promise he stuck to. He also admitted that he and MTV had different visions of where he wanted to take his story on Siesta Key, which ultimately led to him leaving the show. However, he holds no resentment towards the network as he thanked them along with his cast and fans of the show for the experience. Garrett received lots of love from cast members and fans in the comments section of his post.
Siesta Key will surely not be the same without Garrett. Fans have already been speculating that the show may be moving to Miami, but losing one of the original stars will also be a big change for the reality series. Luckily, Garrett has gained a lot more from his experience on the MTV show than he's lost, and it's good to see he's very appreciative of his time on the show. Hopefully, all goes well for him and Kenna in their future, and maybe they'll both return to Siesta Key someday to reveal a new chapter in his life.
