There are more than a few WWE fans waiting for the Mysterios to go their separate ways. Some believe Dominik and Rey might simply veer into wrestling more singles matches, while others believe a swerve is coming and a heel turn is inevitable for one of the two WWE Superstars. Both commented on the idea of a feud during a recent interview with “BT Sport.”
There has been speculation about if Dominik would ever turn on his father, setting up a series of potential matches between the father and son duo. Rey and Dominik addressed that possibility and said, “We actually talked about that during his first couple of weeks of training,” Rey said. “I remember sitting down with him, and telling him … ‘Could you imagine if you started working and then we teamed up and eventually, you know, whether I turned on you or you turned on me?’ Yeah, that would be cool …"
Things have changed since then. Rey noted that as the two have worked more closely and become a really tight team, he now says, "I don’t think we can do that." He added that their connection is too tight and that their history of battling through things together doesn't really lend to having one person turn on the other. He said, "I don’t think that it would be — storyline-wise, it might be attractive, but I need to feel it at the moment, during that time. Right now, I feel like we just, we have a really tight bond, but it would be something special."

When Dominik was asked, he simply responded that he never would have envisioned already being a former tag team champion with his father. He told Ariel Helwani, who asked if he would ever turn on Rey: “No, never.”
Is This A Swerve Or The Truth?
A good swerve in wrestling means the fans don't see it coming and Rey and Dominik's comments set up the unexpected turn quite nicely. At the same time, it's logical to assume that neither wants to go through the feud if they aren't feeling it creatively. Time will tell if WWE decides to pull the trigger on this and how they approach the story from a creative standpoint.
